Ebonite feed 3g v8, under production compared to 3g v7, tail part length has been increased by 3mm 150 sets production this time.
Gold(24K) decoration technique acquired Tamenuri + gold decoration brighter gold colors need urushi coating on them, haven't done yet. darker gold colors are the ones with urushi coating on top, needs a few more coating. this requires high concentration, and patience... eureka clip V2, designed OVERALL DESIGN: EUREKA! / THE EXCLAMATION POINT. will continue to modify the clip design, for best function and production capacity. it's a spring loaded mechanical clip, like lamy. it requires precision parts, not pressed/welded parts. will need to move my factory before i can start working on it, which will take 1~2 years. v2.1 MODIFIED MORE STREAMLINED, LESS BOXY
Harder type of argentium nib developed. Previous types were softer, due to finer frontal nib shape. this type, the nib is firmer. I am expecting this design will be even more durable than previous version.
Ebonite Feed 3G V7 The best ebonite feed I've designed! compared to previous version, -stable and a bit juicy ink flow. -Ink spurt resistant -improved ink suction from heart hole -stronger inner combs (thicker) this feed will be used from now on (for the pens on sale)
14K Gold Nib design (2) the nib is made from 14K gold. this is a second design (similar to first one) various designs will be tested in the future, and sold as well on the website.
ebonite feed 3g v6 so far, there has been a total of 4 reported cases of feed problems, of all pens sold. 1st gen: 1 overflow issue (fixed) 3rd gen: 3 cases of low flow issue (when continuous heavy writing), one of these 3 cases also had feed & nib fitting issue to tackle this problem, the ink slit has been increased from single to double. this enables continuous stable flow, and does not overflow. to deal with th..
high level of nib polishing achieved, through research as opposed to previous polishing method, a new high polish method was successfully developed. newly produced nibs will be polished with this method.
Walnut Pen Rest + Large Capacity Cartridge Below is the newly made cartridge (2x converter capacity) end side can be opened this is the V1.0 pen rest this is the V2.0 walnut penrest. both pen and cap can be simultaneously rested
Prototype Nib #9 (9/1/2019) Material: 14K Gold Basically same as #8, minus the material Mass production, not possible at the moment. hopely, I might be able to achieve some degree of production. in terms of writing function, the gold one is a bit stiffer than the argentium counterpart. also, more tarnish resistant. otherwise, similar in terms of function. Tested with V8.1 Asymmetrical (Urushi) Because this is a test, used ..
Prototype Nib #8 (6/18/2019) So far, all the process, except slitting has been stable. however, i not that i tried slitting, i can understand why some companies have major issues with slitting... even if the part is set correctly, the end result is different. this is due to vibration of the slitting machine, micro slops in the mechanism, and the nib itself bends as well due to high speed vibration. I tried really hard to so..
Prototype Nib #6 (5/19/2019) First attempt at slitting the nib. Due to some wrong parameters, some inaccuracy occured. Some overcutting observed also, some imperfections due to polishing tests. Standard Thickness: M (0.6~0.8mm) Bend test Bending looks even across the nib, will not cause partial stress, which will cause problems in the long run.
Ebonite Feed 3rd. Gen V4.0, V5.0 Upgrade list 1) Differentiated comb thickness at front section (front side thicker then rear ones) 2) 5 turns of air/ink path (Aurora ebonite feed 1 turn), stability increased. 3) micro slitting across the front part added, to inprove function and stability 4) tail thickness significantly increased to improve durability 5) feed overall thickness increased *below is the lastest version: 3G V5.0, ..
Prototype nib #5 (4/5/2019) Made the test specimen with 14K gold ring. No intricate engraving, but plain look doesn't look too bad! The gold sheet was too thick, making this into a literal nail. weight of the nib 1.1g (146, aurora88, etc. around 0.6~0.8g)
Iridium Point Welding Done (3/29/2019) Iridium Point welded to 14K gold specimen. used self designed and constructed super precision welding machine. still need to work on some parameters, but pretty much there.
Ebonite Feed 3rd Gen. V2.0 (3/13/2019) modification to the previous version... 1) internal comb is thicker than external, therfore preventing brekage 0.6mm -> 1.2mm tested 10 times in and out. no breaking. 2) Slit thickness reduced in order to increase ink holding capacity. comb number increased to 30. 3) frontal combs added to further increase ink holding capacity. 4) front part sharper angle
Analyzing Problem with 3rd Gen. Enonite feed (3/12/2019) 1) some fins break, when insertion and removal is repeated. this is a mojor problem, becuase some advanced users will inevitably remove the nib and feed. the underchannel + under fin structure design weakens certain portion of the feed significantly. even though the combs are 0.6mm thick to compensate for loss of structural integrity of the design, it simply isn't going to work. 2) the "tail" po..
Ebonite Feed 3rd Gen. V1.0 (3/11/2019) Just finished Making these! still not 100% complete. will be completed within next week or so. Compared to previous generation, the 3rd gen has proper buffers tructure inside the grip as well. machining all these features is very time consuming and difficult as well, becuase it is so tiny. hopely this works out ok...
Prototype Nib #3 + V7.5 symmetry (old) (2/4/2019) Just tried for fun. not bad! V7.5 Symmetry + Protype nib #3 the ebonite is produced by indian company. applied Korean Urushi over the ebonite. looks pretty cool.
Prototype Nib #4 (2/2/2019) Modifications to the previous version 1) overall length 1mm increased 2) From side view, nib has curved contour as opposed to linear one. 3) Tip changed to accept 0.8mm point 4) minute design changes.
Prototype Nib #3 (1/13/2019) Overall design is similar to Prototype #2. Some shaping features has been changed. Compare to 146 nib... (montblanc)
Ebonite Feed 2nd Gen. design (1/8/2019) The air channel has been moved to bottom, like that of the old version platinum gathered ebonite feed. these days, literally nobody makes feeds like this. the air channel is usually on the top side of the ebonite feed.
Prototype Nib #2 (12/23/2018) Material : Argentium silver 925 compared to previous version, more stable fabrication possible. Previous prototype had uniform nib thickness, front to end. Now, One end is thin, and the other thick. tipping and slitting process is being researched currently. also, new feed prototype is currently under development.
Ebonite Feed 1st Gen. V1 (5-10-2018) This is my first ever created ebonite feed. The ebonite feed is naturally superior than plastic feeds, when it comes to wettability. The ebonite is made of natural rubber and sulfer + some additional stuff. The reason ebonite is wettable, is because of its high microscopic porosity. At the surface of the ebonite, the sulfer eventually dissipates into the air over time. when this sulfer is gone f..
Prototype Nib #1 (5/10/2018) This is one of my initial prototype nibs. previously, i tried with Titanium, stainless steel materials. The silver nib offers a bit of softness. the point of this nib is tungsten carbide. it will probably last 5~10x more than iridium points. however, it does tarnish a bit to black color. also, the writing feel may be inferior to iridium points. it is extremely hard material.
