Today I mastered the production of the machined titanium nib.
the nib is very springy and is a little stiffer than bock steel nib.
It isn't nail hard nib, due to the long slit and relatively thin sheet thickness for the frontal area.
each individual nib requires dedicated handwork. as a result of that, each nib color is different.
the material is titanium grade 23 (or grade 5 ELI) from Germany.
Some of them will be produced from sources such as China and USA, but just a few of them.
Mostly (over 95%) the nib will be produced with German material.
The material country of origin will be noted in the description.
Currently the nibs are under production.
after a certain amount of nibs are produced, I will move onto developing compatible ULTEM feeder for the nib.
originally, I planned to use ebonite material for the feed.
but since the nib is so precisely made, heat setting is not required.
So it makes more sense to use ultem material and boost production.
regarding finishing types,
various types of finishing will be available.
below is just an example.
more exciting news will be posted as I continue on this ambitious journey!
thank you!
