Today i completed the grip section for the dodecagon cigar symmetry (ultem)
now, the project is complete.
for the grip section, i wanted to do dodecagon as well.
unfortunately, it was uncomfortable to write with, due to the large spacing of the angles.
so i tried 24, 36 angles.
overall 24 angle was best.
the following has been aligned:
1) barrel, cap, grip angle aligned
2) bock nib unit, when installed, line up with the grip/barrel facet.
3) when the cap is closed, one of the tripple thread allows alignment of
captop logo and bock nib
this means, all the parts/features of this fountain pen lines up.
for the grip section design, i chose Arc curve.
this is because a lot of buyers preferred this design.
so, the arc design and 24 facets have been integrated.
i've learned from this project:
1) clear fountain pens are more difficult to make
2) lining up all the facets/features is very difficult
3) multi-facet fountain pen is very awesome looking
4) multi-facet fountain pen is very effective for stopping roll
,even without roll-stopper/clip
*in the picture the facets may look distorted due to diffraction,
however, the actual machining is accurate.
