Important notes for using Con-70 1. when installing / removing, give a bit of rotation 2. (below picture) if ink is on the outside wall of Con-70, wipe it clean, then install. otherwise, the ink will be pushed out and contaminate thread area (This is not leaking) similarly, inside wall of grip section must be clean as well. 3. if there's a real leakage, then all converter ink will be leaked out from the nib area within minutes... 2024. 3. 13. Prevent Urushi Deterioration (usually grip section, due to high humidity) There has been a few cases of urushi coated grip section deterioration. mostly the deterioration occurs with the clear types of urushi finish. the clear outer coating of urushi will change into awful looking light brownish color. the durability will be reduced as well. at first i thought, maybe the quality of the urushi is the problem. however, i only use high quality urushi from Japan. moreover.. 2024. 1. 13. How to increase flow of 5th gen ebonite feeder (for 5th gen V1 only) after creating the 5th gen ebonite feeder. it passed my multiple inspection for ink flow. however, recently i observed some feeds showed signs of inconsistent ink flow. sometime the flow would slow down, then normalize again. this occured for some feeds for unknown reason to me, although i am suspecting air bubble getting stuck a bit. so when inspecting generally, this wasn't obvious at first. f.. 2023. 12. 22. (TIPs) Never rub urushi against urushi / (TIP) Penrest related 1) rubbing urushi part against urushi will cause scratches. never forcefully rub urushi against urushi in worst case top urushi layer could get destroyed 2) when using wooden urushi penrest, never rub pen against the urushi penrest. only gently & lightly put the pen on the penrest. use the wooden urushi penrest mainly for display purpose 3) for heavy / frequent use, use the 3 slotted penrest the.. 2022. 9. 15. (Tips) Never close the cap tightly only a light closing pressure is needed to achieve perfect seal. never close the cap tightly * for peek models more pressure may be required so it doesn't accidentally open peek is stronger than ebonite, so more pressure is perfectly fine * for ebonite models only light pressure is required, as ebonite is a high-friction material if you close the cap tightly, more damage can occur when the pen i.. 2022. 5. 12. (TIPs) How to polish your urushi penrest when you purchase a eureka fountain pen, a free urushi wooden penrest is included as a gift. for quick processing and cost reduction, these pen rests are not polished. small bumps (dust, impurities etc.) can be seen on the surface. polishing these out takes time and human labor, which will drive up the cost. however, you can polish these out yourself (if you want to) please wear latex gloves whe.. 2022. 1. 25. (TIPs) How to remove / install the nib (older models) removing and installing the nib is at your own risk! (TIPs) How to take care of the Urushi products ◆ urushi maintenance ◆ Although Urushi doesn't need maintenance due to its superb durability, following maintenance will make a difference in the long run. ◆ It takes 6 months to reach near full hardeness, so avoid dropping, sudden shocks, etc. ◆ Do not expose the urushi to direct sunlight for prolonged period of time.
